Quote & Thought for the Day -- Saturday, 20 Dec '08

“The heart of a fool is in his mouth, but the mouth of a wise man is in his heart.”
My Thoughts:
My Dad says this “a closed fist is worth million rupees”. Unless the other person knows what is inside your clenched fist, he might think that it’s something precious you are holding, even if you are holding nothing.

So show your wisdom by holding your tongue, wherever you can

“People will accept your ideas much more readily if you tell them Benjamin Franklin said it first.”
--David H. Comins
My Thoughts:
We all have a comfort and a discomfort zone in our minds. These comfort zones for someone are created when you trust them or have an image of authority for them.

So you readily accept the ideas given by these people. But if the same thing is proposed by someone in your discomfort zone, then you are likely to reject that idea.

"The purpose of life is a life of purpose."
My Thoughts:
I have been telling in the previous quotes that you are in this world for a specified purpose; a mission for which you are given a limited time span.

But most of us fail to find that mission and to be precise, choose to ignore it. Once you realize the mission, you have a purpose in life, a direction where you can progress.

My Thoughts:
Moving the World forward towards success, betterment, and peace is definitely a very important task. And also this is a tougher task, and most of us think that this can be done only by a “perfect man”.

But we all know that there is nothing like a perfect man, at least these days. So should the task of moving the world forward should wait? Definitely no, it is collectively that we can help in our own ways to make this world a better place to live.

My Thoughts:
During these tough financial times, we would have had experienced this. Everyone is trying to give their talented services at discounted rates.

And suddenly find that there are lots of cheap skilled and talented people all around. But then at this point, the only distinguishing factor amongst these talented individuals is one who is ready for hard work. And in addition to that, able to so some smart work.

“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.”
My Thoughts:
Since childhood, we have being taught to learn from our mistakes. But as we grow up, we tend to forget this lesson. And often the most forgetful, of this lesson, are the business people; who remember and show off all the happy customer testimonials.

But when it comes to unhappy costumers, we all want to be at bay. But these are the ones who would tell you what the actual problems are with your services, because they have experienced that. And all that is required is that we listen to our unhappy customers and learn from them and improve.
