"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
My Thoughts:
In my childhood, I have read this story of the King and the Spider. In this story the King sees the spider trying to build the web but it fails a couple of times. The king says to the Spider that she should stop trying to build the web. The spider refuses and finally she succeeds in building the web. Looking at this the King realizes his mistake and acknowledges the Spider for her Determination (you can read the whole story here).
The moral of the story is never give-up. We usually get frustrated when things don’t work. We get annoyed when we find things which are not the way we wanted. But all we have to remember is that most of the times we would end up at solutions that don’t work. But that’s not waste your effort if you had learned something from it. That’s how life teaches us a lesson. All we have to do is Try-Try till we succeed.
What do you say about this?
"We can let circumstances rule us, or we can take charge and rule our lives from within."
My Thoughts:
I would like to share a story which I had received from a friend by email. I goes like this….
Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"
He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, 'Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."
I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.
Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center.
After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body. I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Want to see my scars?"
I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live. "Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man." I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. ’Yes', I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.'"
Jerry lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

I think this story is enough food for thought for this Quote. Looking forward for hear it from you
“The important thing is not to stop questioning.”
My Thoughts:
You always accept it as it is. They say it is the conventional truth. This was followed by your forefathers. And that’s the reason you don’t question.

Remember, if you don’t question, your doubts would not be solved. So be ready to challenge the conventional truth.

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”
My Thoughts:
The story goes like this…..once there was a King; he once went for a tour of his kingdom. On his way walking, his foot was hurt by a thorn. Soon he ordered his minister to cover every inch of his kingdom with velvet so that no thorn can hurt him.

But then there was a wise minister who said that “My Lord, why don’t you wear Shoes?” We all behave like the king, just wanting to change the world at first thought. But if you think deeply, you would find that changing oneself is more effective!

“The horizon of many people is a circle with a radius of zero. They call this their point of view”
My Thoughts:
Yesterday, yes on Sunday, I was having discussion with my Boss for my appraisal. And I got a feel of this, how someone can be so dumb to have no acknowledgement of someone’s work and say that this is in my point of view.

They cannot see beyond the horizon and don’t want to face the realities and then they say that’s their point of view.

“Beware so long as you live, of judging people by appearances.”
My Thoughts:
Have you seen Mahatma Gandhi? If you look at his appearance, you would see an old man, thin, without shirt……simple person.

If you have judged him by his appearance, then you might think that he is such an ordinary man. But the reality is that inside this simple appearance he was a great man. So don’t judge people by appearances, its only a illusion.

“Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray”
--Anonymous
My Thoughts:
Once my teacher asked to the class – when so you pray the most? And most students answered – during exams. Yes, that’s true that we pray only when things go beyond our hands.

But understand that things are never in your hand, even if apparently they are. So then if things aren’t in your hand, then you should always pray. Always seek help from God Almighty. And when you develop this attitude, you are in the perfect position to pray.

“I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.”
My Thoughts:
Life is so fast moving! You are there just thinking about it and then life surprises you with all together a new thing.

It’s great that you are planning for future, but don’t be so engrossed in the planning that life may surprise you with something new.

“It is better to wear out than to rust out.”
My Thoughts:
So do you want to die just like anyone on a hospital bead or do you want to die fighting for a cause? Of course you want to die for a cause.

Everyone would die one day, then why not put ourselves for a cause and wear out for that cause. That’s certainly better than rusting at home and dying for nothing.

“Look for the ridiculous in everything and you will find it.”
My Thoughts:
As I have told I my previous thoughts that a person, specially the so called knowledgeable men, would see everything as ridiculous.

But if you understand, then every thing is what it is for a reason. And it is totally ridiculous to think that something is ridiculous because it is not the way you wanted.

“Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don't turn up at all.”
My Thoughts:
Hard work not only highlights the character of a person but also many more things. It tells you how a person looks at things.

His attitude towards life and work, how he handles situations and take decisions.

“We don't always get to choose who we are. Sometimes, our destiny leads us to places that we don't want to go, and there's nothing we can do about it”
--Anonymous
My Thoughts:
It’s all already written in your destiny; that is what I believe. You would find yourself, many a times, in such a situation where you would ask yourself – what am I doing here or why am I doing this

But the reality is that you are doing something or are at some place only because it’s your destiny and you can hardly do anything about it. All that is in your hand is that give your best.

“A fine quotation is a diamond on the finger of a man of wit, and a pebble in the hand of a fool.”
My Thoughts:
If you gift someone with something, then the receiver has two options – take that gift as precious belonging or just take that gift and throw it in the junk box.

Same is with advise and quotations, it is up to the receiver of the advise – either treat it as precious and use it or to throw it in the junk box by not using it.

“A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror.”
My Thoughts:
If you look at the world with a red glass, you see the world red; if you see the world with a green glass, you see the world as green.

There is also a glass in your mind, the glass of perception. But here that glass not only filters the light of reality but reflect your perception and thoughts.

“I never compete against the competition. The only one I compete against is myself, because one day I will beat the competition and then who will I compete against?”
--Billie Akauola
My Thoughts:
An ambitious person would certainly kill all the competition some day or the other. Then what challenge would he have?

As I have said in the previous quote, you have a certain purpose in life. And at that point when you outrun the competition, would you have any challenge or purpose in your life? Yes, there is always scope to improve. Improve to a better YOU, this is how you compete against yourself.

“When you are at the top; just look up; the sky will be still above you”
--Anonymous
My Thoughts:
Most of us, when we achieve success, get that feeling that we are at the top. Everything, everyone is below us.

But when you realize, that there are still more things that are above you, then you would come out of that false pride. And also you would have higher goals to keep you going.
Quote & Thought for the Day -- Thursday, 18 Dec '08

“Then give to the world the best you have. And the best will come back to you.”
--Madeline Bridges
My Thoughts:
It’s always a give and take relationship, almost everywhere. And I know one thing for sure, that if you expect to get the best you have to give your best.
Quote & Thought for the Day -- Monday, 8 Dec '08

“Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else.”
My Thoughts:
Every one is unique….this is what I have been telling in lots of pervious post. Each one of us has a different set of qualities that make us different from others.

But it is found that people don’t try and find these distinguishing qualities. Instead they copy others and become a second rate version of someone else.
Quote & Thought for the Day -- Tuesday, 2 Dec '08

“People laugh because I am different. And I laugh because they are all the same.”
My Thoughts:
I have a strong belief that each one of us is unique and with a different purpose of life. But most people don’t think this way.

They ill treat people who they think they are different. But the point is they themselves are ignorant about the fact that they are also different. And when Swami Vivekananda says that he laughs at others because they are all the same, he didn’t mean that they are all alike or not unique. But they are acting as if they are all alike.
Quote & Thought for the Day -- Monday, 1 Dec '08

One never knows what each day is going to bring. The important thing is to be open and ready for it.”
My Thoughts:
That’s Life. Life is there to surprise you; to show you something that you had never experienced before.

And this is the fact that most of us know but ignore this. Important thing is that if you know this fact, then why are you not prepared?
